February 2020
So, you survived the 97 days in January and payday has never felt better. But hold up, its the month of love.
If you are like us and don't particularly fancy celebrating love on the 14th of February, here are some other fun activities to get involved in this month:
3 Sisters- National Theatre

1st - 20th February
Yes, we dropped the ball on this one! Three Sisters has been around since January and has racked up noteworthy reviews, with a full house on most nights so you know it's one to watch!
This adaptation of Chekov's Three Sisters is set in Biafran Nigeria - Nigeria's scantily documented civil war which killed millions of civilians. The play is set around 3 sisters - Lolo, Nne and Chukwu who try to navigate war-torn Nigeria following the death of their father. We won't spoil it for you but expect a myriad of emotions... laughs, side eyes and of course, important historical references. Tickets are available via the National Theatre website.
The High Table
8th - 29th Feb
This play by Temi Wilkey is definitely one to watch. It is set around two characters - Temi and Leah. As the title suggests, it is wedding related - no surprises there. Now, as evolved as we are as human beings, particular cultures aren't necessarily accepting of ... and this is where it gets very interesting!
Showing at the Holloway Theatre for the next few weeks. Tickets as low as a tenner.
PASS OVER
15th February
Pass Over is a play by Playwright Antoinette Nwandu set in modern day England. She describes it as a mashup of Waiting for Godot meets the biblical Exodus chapters in a modern setting. The play is set around three characters - Moses, Kitch and Mister who try to reconcile ideals against the realities of life.
3 Sisters - The (W)rap party

20th February
This particular (w)rap party is a celebration to mark the end of the 3 month run of the play, 3 sisters.
As they put it 'Ten Nigerian poets will perform commissioned poems responding to the play’s themes of sisterhood, feminism and womanism during pre and post-colonial Nigeria - all sound-tracked by a selection of Afrobeat, Hip-Life and Hip Hop tracks by DJ Lex Amor and hosted by Inua Ellams himself.'
10 Nigerian artists and poets have been selected to perform commissioned work around the adaptation of Chekov's 3 Sisters play. Expect lots of finger clicking (and licking - there will be jollof rice served), nostalgia and laughs.
So that's it for us for the month of February.
